Vertical Horizon

Vertical Horizon emerged as a prominent band within the alternative rock scene in the 1990s, characterized by their introspective lyrics and dynamic soundscapes. Initially formed by lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Scannell and Keith Kane while they were attending Georgetown University, the duo began performing acoustically in the Washington, D.C. area, eventually releasing their debut album, "There and Back Again," in 1992. The early years saw the band expanding their lineup and refining their sound, a progression that was evident by the time they released "Running on Ice" and "Live Stages."

The band reached a commercial peak with the release of "Everything You Want" in 1999, an album that catapulted them to major success. The title track, "Everything You Want," became a chart-topping hit, defining the sound of late '90s radio alongside peers in the post-grunge and alternative rock movements. Following this success, Vertical Horizon has continued to release albums such as "Go," "Burning the Days," "Echoes from the Underground," and "The Lost Mile," showcasing their evolution in sound while maintaining the core emotional depth and musicianship that initially garnered their fanbase. Despite lineup changes over the years, with Scannell remaining as the constant driving force, Vertical Horizon has endured as a band capable of crafting engaging, thoughtful music that resonates with a dedicated fan base and newcomers alike.
