Villu Veski

Villu Veski is a renowned Estonian saxophonist, composer, music producer, and educator. Born on January 19, 1962, in Hellamaa, Muhu, Estonia, he has established himself as a versatile artist with a wide range of musical endeavors. Veski completed his education at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and furthered his studies in France. He has formed several notable ensembles, including the Villu Veski Quartet, Avicenna, and Saxappeal Band. One of his notable projects is the duo Villu Veski – Tiit Kalluste NordicSounds, which explores Nordic ethno-jazz and has released albums such as "Sounds of the Nordic Islands" and "Sounds of the Nordic Islands, Vol. 2." Veski has collaborated with numerous international artists and performed extensively across the globe.

Villu Veski's work extends beyond performance to education and cultural management. He has taught at various institutions, including the Georg Ots Tallinn School of Music and the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy. Veski has also been involved in organizing cultural events, such as the Muhu Future Music Festival. His contributions to Estonian music have been recognized with several awards, including the Order of the White Star and the Estonian Music Council's Music Life Achievement Award. Veski continues to be active in the music scene, both as a performer and educator.
