Atomic Rooster
Atomic Rooster was a British progressive rock band formed in 1969 by keyboardist Vincent Crane and drummer Carl Palmer after their departure from The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Known for their heavy organ-driven sound and dramatic flair, the band's music blended elements of progressive rock, hard rock, and early heavy metal. Their early 1970s output, particularly albums like Death Walks Behind You and In Hearing of Atomic Rooster, earned them a cult following, with the single "Devil's Answer" becoming one of their best-known tracks.
Over the years, Atomic Rooster went through numerous lineup changes, with notable musicians like Carl Palmer (who later co-founded Emerson, Lake & Palmer) and guitarist John Du Cann contributing to their sound. Despite breaking up and reforming several times, the band left a lasting legacy in the prog and hard rock scenes. Their music has continued to be reissued and celebrated, keeping the spirit of Atomic Rooster alive for fans of vintage rock sounds.
