Cryptic Rising

Cryptic Rising is a post-black metal band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2012. The band has primarily been a solo project, with Matthew Plunkett being the main creative force behind it. Plunkett is also known for his work in the slamming deathcore band Abated Mass of Flesh. Initially, Cryptic Rising was associated with a Christian context, but it no longer identifies as such. The band's music often explores themes of darkness and existential introspection, as reflected in their discography, which includes releases like "Necrotic Sacrament" and "The Sequential Sting of Existence."

Over the years, Cryptic Rising has evolved from its early noise-influenced sound to a more refined post-black metal style.
