Pestilence is a formidable name in the world of extreme metal, hailing from the Netherlands and renowned for their sophisticated approach to death metal. Founding member and driving force, Patrick Mameli, has steered the band’s sound through various incarnations since its formation in 1986. Pestilence started off with a thrash-influenced style on their debut album "Malleus Maleficarum" before evolving into a more progressive death metal sound with the critically acclaimed "Consuming Impulse." Their music is characterized by technical proficiency and complex arrangements, as showcased on their lauded releases "Testimony of the Ancients" and "Spheres."
