Scott Wittman
Scott Wittman is a Tony Award-winning lyricist, director, and writer best known for his longtime collaboration with composer Marc Shaiman. Together, they’ve created some of Broadway’s most memorable musicals, including the smash hit Hairspray, which won them a Tony for Best Original Score. Their partnership also brought to life the jazzy rhythms of Catch Me If You Can and the feel-good sounds of the stage adaptation of Some Like It Hot.
In addition to his work on Broadway, Wittman co-wrote the songs for the NBC musical series Smash and contributed to Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, showcasing his versatile talent across multiple platforms. With a flair for clever lyrics and a deep understanding of theatrical storytelling, Wittman has left an indelible mark on modern musical theater.
