Grigory Frid

Grigory Frid (1915–2012) was a Russian composer, pianist, and writer best known for his chamber operas and piano works. His most famous composition, *The Diary of Anne Frank*, is a one-act monodrama based on Anne Frank's writings, which has been widely performed and acclaimed for its emotional depth. Frid was an influential figure in Soviet classical music, blending modernist styles with lyrical expressiveness. Beyond his compositions, he was also an accomplished visual artist and author, contributing significantly to Russian cultural life throughout the 20th century.
