Ari Cohen Mann

Ari Cohen Mann is a Toronto-based oboist known for their brilliant virtuosity and passionate advocacy for new music. They have built a versatile career as a soloist, recitalist, orchestral musician, and educator, and have earned recognition as one of CBC Music’s 30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians. Ari's playing is described as emotionally charged, and they proudly champion their queer identity while inspiring LGBTQ youth. Their solo debut at Carnegie Hall in 2016 marked a key milestone, and they have since performed concertos with various orchestras and premiered works by contemporary composers such as Jocelyn Morlock and Kevin Day.

Beyond performing, Ari is deeply involved in education, serving on the faculty at Wilfrid Laurier University and actively engaging with the International Double Reed Society. Their debut album, *VORTEX*, released on Orchid Classics in 2025, features a carefully curated selection of contemporary pieces that reflect their artistic vision and pay tribute to mentors and composers important in their musical journey. Ari is also an online creator, sharing insights into life as a modern classical musician and the oboe’s capabilities through their popular social media platforms.
