Jebediah

Jebediah is an Australian alternative rock band that emerged from the Perth music scene in the mid-1990s, quickly garnering a loyal fan base with their energetic live shows and distinct blend of grungy guitar riffs and infectious melodies. The band was formed by vocalist and guitarist Kevin Mitchell, his brother and bass guitarist Vanessa Thornton, guitarist Chris Daymond, and drummer Brett Mitchell. Jebediah's debut came with the 1995 EP "Twitch," which laid the groundwork for their signature sound and won them early critical acclaim.

The group's first full-length album, "Slightly Odway," was released in 1997 and became a huge hit, solidifying their place in the Aussie rock landscape. Their subsequent albums, "Of Someday Shambles" and the heavier "Braxton Hicks," showcased the band's growth and versatility, while EPs like "Anniversary E.P." and compilations such as "Gleesides & Sparities" served to celebrate the band's history and cater to their devoted fanbase. Jebediah's 2011 album "Kosciuszko" saw the band return to their roots while also experimenting with new sounds and lyrical depth, reaffirming their status as a staple of the Australian music scene. Known for their catchy singles such as "Harpoon," "Leaving Home," "Jerks of Attention," and "Military Strongmen," Jebediah has maintained a consistent presence in the industry, known for their relatable lyrics and robust live performances.
