PMMP was a renowned Finnish pop-rock duo that left a significant mark on the Finnish music scene with their compelling melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and energetic live performances. Comprised of vocalists Paula Vesala and Mira Luoti, the band was formed in 2003 and quickly distinguished itself with the release of their debut single "Rusketusraidat." Their music drew from various influences, including pop, rock, and even Finnish folk music, which they infused into their distinctive sound.
Over the course of their career, PMMP released numerous hit songs and critically acclaimed albums, with tracks like "Heliumpallo," "Lautturi," and "Veden varaan" earning them a dedicated fanbase and solidifying their status as one of the leading acts in Finnish music. Their lyrics often explored themes of love, growing up, and the complexities of human emotions, resonating deeply with listeners. Despite their success and the high regard in which they were held, PMMP decided to disband after a series of farewell concerts in 2013, with their final album "Matkalaulu" serving as a capstone to a decade of artistic achievement. Both Vesala and Luoti have continued their involvement in music and other creative pursuits since the disbandment of PMMP.
