Calm Chor

Calm Chor, the alter ego of Ashvin Mani Sharma, is a prominent figure in India's electronic dance music scene. With a career spanning over two decades, he has been instrumental in shaping the country's underground music landscape. Ashvin co-founded the influential group Jalebee Cartel, which was India's first techno live act and gained international recognition. After the group disbanded, he launched his solo project, Calm Chor, in 2011, focusing on minimal techno and house music. Under this moniker, he has released several notable tracks and EPs, including "Dancefloor Sci-Fi," which gained significant attention on music platforms like Beatport. Ashvin also co-founded Soupherb Records, a label dedicated to promoting India's unique underground sound.

As Calm Chor, Ashvin continues to tour extensively, performing at festivals and clubs globally. His music is characterized by its emotional depth and dramatic flair, reflecting his Indian roots. He has also been part of other projects, such as Bit of Both, a live electronica act that blends percussive elements with house and techno. Through his work, Ashvin aims to push the boundaries of electronic music, showcasing India's talent on the global stage.
