The South Jutland Symphony Orchestra is a vibrant regional ensemble established in 1963. The orchestra calls Alsion in Sønderborg home, which features a concert hall renowned for its exceptional acoustics, considered among the best in Europe. They also engage in broadcasts on Danish Radio P2 and collaborate with the Schleswig-Holstein Sinfonieorchester on annual joint concerts.
Under the leadership of notable conductors like David Porcelijn, who served as chief conductor from 2010, the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra has continued to grow in its musical reach and diversity.
