Covent Garden Sinfonia

Covent Garden Sinfonia, formerly known as the Orchestra of St Paul's until 2017, is one of London’s most dynamic and versatile chamber orchestras. Founded in 2007 by conductor and composer Ben Palmer, who also serves as its Artistic Director, the orchestra has built a strong reputation for imaginative programming and stylish performances. They are resident at the famous Actors’ Church, St Paul’s in Covent Garden, and regularly perform at major London venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Cadogan Hall. Their flexible size ranges from a small ensemble to a full symphony orchestra, adapting to each project’s needs.

The orchestra is particularly renowned for its specialization in live-to-film music performances, including premieres at prestigious locations like the BFI IMAX in London. Over the years, Covent Garden Sinfonia has collaborated with distinguished soloists such as Carolyn Sampson, James Gilchrist, and David Owen Norris. Their patron is Sir Roger Norrington, a world-leading expert in historical performance, which further highlights the orchestra’s commitment to artistic excellence and versatility.
