Åse Kleveland is a Norwegian singer, actress, and politician. She began her career as a singer in the 1960s, and has since released over 20 albums. She has also starred in several films and television shows, and served as Norway's Minister of Culture from 1990 to 1992. Kleveland is known for her powerful vocals and her socially conscious lyrics. She is a recipient of the Norwegian Grammy Award for Best Female Artist, and was inducted into the Rockheim Hall of Fame in 2010.
