Slightly Stoopid is an eclectic band known for their fusion of folk, rock, reggae, and blues with hip-hop, funk, metal, and punk. Formed in 1995 in Ocean Beach, California, the group was originally signed by Bradley Nowell from the band Sublime to his label, Skunk Records, while still in high school. Over the years, co-founders Miles Doughty (guitar, bass, vocals) and Kyle McDonald (guitar, bass, vocals), have been joined by drummer Ryan “RyMo” Moran; percussionist Oguer “OG” Ocon; saxophonist Daniel “Dela” Delacruz; keyboardist Paul Wolstencroft; and trumpet player/trombonist Andy Geib; solidifying their current lineup. Known for their chill vibes and laid-back, sunny melodies, Slightly Stoopid has successfully built a large, dedicated fan-base through their music and extensive touring.
Throughout their career, Slightly Stoopid has released numerous albums and singles, constantly evolving their sound and experimenting across various musical genres. Some of their recent releases include collaborations with other renowned artists in the reggae and alternative scenes, further exemplifying their diverse approach to music-making. Tracks like "Got Me On The Run" in partnership with Stick Figure and Pepper, and their remix of "Everyday People" featuring B-Real & G. Love, showcase their collaborative spirit. The band has also left a distinct mark with their live performances, as captured in the live recording of "Franklin's Tower" from Roberto's Tri Studios. Slightly Stoopid's ongoing creative output and their ability to fuse different styles make them a continually relevant force in the music world.
