The Exploited

The Exploited is a Scottish punk rock band formed in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1979. Initially founded by Stevie Ross and Terry Buchan, the band soon saw Terry replaced by his brother Wattie Buchan, who has remained the band's vocalist and leader throughout their career. The Exploited gained popularity with their debut EP "Army Life" and album "Punks Not Dead," both released in 1981. Over the years, they have maintained a strong cult following, particularly among hardcore working-class punk and skinhead audiences. Originally a street punk band, they evolved into a crossover thrash band with the release of "Death Before Dishonour" in 1987.

The Exploited have continued to perform live despite not releasing new studio material since their 2003 album "Fuck the System." Their music has been covered by notable bands like Slayer, and they remain a significant influence in the punk genre. Despite numerous lineup changes, Wattie Buchan's consistent presence has been a defining feature of the band. Their live performances and legacy continue to resonate with fans worldwide, with albums like "The Massacre" and "Beat the Bastards" remaining part of their iconic discography.
