Michi Gaigg is a renowned Austrian conductor and violinist, best known for founding and leading the L'Orfeo Barockorchester, an internationally acclaimed ensemble specializing in early music. She established her first orchestra, L'Arpa Festante, in Munich in 1983 and led it for 12 years. After moving to Austria, she co-founded L'Orfeo Barockorchester in 1996 with Carin van Heerden.
