Mats Wawa

Mats Wawa is a Norwegian indie rock band formed in 2015, fronted by singer-songwriter Mats Wang. The project began when Wang, who had barely written any songs and never played with other musicians, was unexpectedly booked for the Trondheim Calling festival. This sudden opportunity led to the formation of the band, which quickly developed a sound blending naive indie pop with psychedelic rock elements.

The band's music has evolved since their 2016 debut album, exploring various genres while maintaining a core of blue-eyed indie pop and rougher psychedelic rock influences. Their discography includes releases like "Scuzz" (2018), "Inside Job" (2020), and the full-length album "Rock Omelette," which showcases their eclectic style ranging from retro-inspired pop to more experimental sounds.
