Amaury Faye is a French pianist considered one of the most promising of his generation, personifying the new wave of jazz made in France. Born in Toulouse in 1990, Faye has built an impressive career both as a leader and collaborator, earning recognition across Europe and beyond. He studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music from 2014 to 2015, where he worked with renowned musicians like NEA Jazzmaster Joanne Brackeen and won Berklee's Jazz Performance Award for Best Pianist in 2015. After returning to Europe, he established his signature trio with bassist Louis Navarro and drummer Théo Lanau, quickly establishing themselves as a force on the European jazz scene by winning five awards in national and international competitions in 2016.
Faye's discography showcases his versatility as both a composer and improviser. His first official album *Clearway* (2017) won the "Revelation!" award from Jazz Magazine/Jazzman, followed by the live recording *Live in Brussels* (2018), which earned four stars from Jazz Magazine/Jazzman. Beyond leading his trio, Faye has also been featured in projects like the Vogue Trio under bassist Giuseppe Millaci since 2016. His more recent work includes the ambitious *Arise (Suite)* (2023), an instrumental suite blending jazz with classical music, featuring strings and inspired by mountains and his mountaineer grandparents, demonstrating his ambitions as a composer working across genres.
