One Dove was a Scottish electronic music group that emerged in the early 1990s, gaining a cult following for their dreamy blend of ambient, dub, and dance-pop sounds. The trio consisted of vocalist Dot Allison, producer Ian Carmichael, and DJ Colin “Harry” McKenzie. Their music stood out for its lush, atmospheric production and Allison's haunting, ethereal vocals. The group’s only full-length album, Morning Dove White, was released in 1993 and was produced in part by Andrew Weatherall, a key figure in the UK dance scene.
Tracks like “Fallen” and “Breakdown” showcased One Dove’s knack for combining moody lyricism with club-ready beats — a style that captured the transitional moment in UK electronic music when rave culture met introspective songwriting. Though their time together was brief, One Dove left a lasting impression on fans of trip-hop, downtempo, and 90s electronic music. After the group disbanded, Dot Allison went on to pursue a solo career, collaborating with artists across genres.
