Lindy Morrison

Lindy Morrison is an influential Australian musician best known as the drummer for the iconic indie rock band The Go-Betweens, which she joined in 1980. She played with them through much of the 1980s and contributed to their distinctive sound with her unorthodox and innovative drumming style, which became a key part of the band’s evolving songwriting and musical identity. After The Go-Betweens disbanded in the early 1990s, Lindy collaborated with former bandmate Amanda Brown in the group Cleopatra Wong and became deeply involved in community music projects across Australia, leading workshops and supporting musicians with intellectual disabilities and youth programs. She also worked as the National Coordinator for Support Act, a charity helping musicians in need, and taught copyright law at TAFE in Sydney, reflecting her passion for protecting artists’ rights. Lindy’s career reflects a vibrant blend of creative artistry and social commitment, making her a respected figure both on and off the stage.
