Broken Bones

Broken Bones is a seminal British hardcore punk band, formed in 1983 by members of the influential group Discharge. The band was initially composed of guitarist Tony "Bones" Roberts, who is recognized for his raw and uncompromising riffs, and vocalist Nobby, bassist Oddy, and drummer Baz, who each contributed to the ferocious and unyielding sound that would become the band's hallmark. Over the years, Broken Bones has undergone various lineup changes but has always centered around the creative core and direction of Tony Roberts.

With a discography punctuated by aggressive and fast-paced anthems, Broken Bones cemented their position in the hardcore punk movement of the 1980s and influenced many bands within the punk and metal scenes. "Dem Bones/Decapitated" and "Decapitated" are considered classics, merging the velocity and political charge of punk with the heft and intensity of metal, setting a template for the crossover thrash and hardcore genres. More recent releases such as "I Fe3l Like I C0uld Fly" and "CLOSER" demonstrate the band's commitment to evolving their sound while maintaining the raw, socio-political commentary that earned their respected status. Live performances such as "Live 100 Club 1984" encapsulate the energy and fury of their early days, while albums like "Time For Anger, Not Justice" and "F.O.A.D." continue to solidify Broken Bones' legacy as influential purveyors of hardcore punk's more aggressive and purposeful edge.
