Despistado

Despistado was a spirited indie rock band hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan, that buzzed through the early 2000s with a sharp, post-punk-inspired sound. Formed in 2001, the band included members Dagan Harding (vocals/bass), Miquelon Rodrigo (guitar), Joel Passmore (drums), and Leif Thorseth (guitar), blending wiry guitar riffs and urgent rhythms with politically charged lyrics. Their standout 2003 EP, *The Emergency Response*—released via Jade Tree Records—featured tracks like "Nocturnal Anthem" and "Emergency Exits," capturing their knack for catchy yet confrontational tunes. Despite their brief run and breakup in 2004, Despistado left a cult following in Canada's indie scene, with members later joining acts like Jason Plumb and The Willing. They briefly reunited for a one-off show in 2015, reminding fans why their fiery energy still resonates.
