Sachém is a multi-talented artist who combines his skills as a rapper, singer, and spoken-word poet to create impactful and emotive performances. Born with ties to the Quandamooka people and of African American descent, he hails from North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah). Sachém has won several notable awards, including the 2017 Oodgeroo Noonuccal Poetry Prize and the 2020 Brisbane City Council Best Original Song Award. His music often addresses personal stories and poignant social and cultural issues, making him a significant voice in contemporary cultural dialogue. He debuted his first EP, *Part of the Picture*, in 2022 and later presented a performance called *The Bigger Picture*, featuring Matt Hsu's Obscure Orchestra, which explored themes of reconciliation and self-discovery through music, film, and spoken word.
