Arturo Márquez
Arturo Márquez is a Mexican composer known for his vibrant and rhythmic compositions that often draw inspiration from Mexican folk music. Born in 1950 in Álamos, Sonora, Márquez studied music at the National Conservatory of Mexico and later in France with renowned composer Jacques Castérède. His music is characterized by its infectious melodies, lively rhythms, and colorful orchestration, and has earned him international acclaim. Márquez's most famous work is his "Danzón No. 2," a lively and energetic piece that has become a staple of Mexican classical music.
