Colony House is an American indie rock quartet formed in Franklin, Tennessee, originally known as Caleb, after Caleb Chapman, the frontman and primary songwriter of the group. The band later changed their name to Colony House in 2013, a nod to an apartment complex where many of the band members lived during their formative years. Besides Chapman on vocals and guitar, the lineup includes his brother Will Chapman on drums, guitarist Scott Mills, and bassist Parke Cottrell. Their sound is characterized by sharp, engaging hooks and reflective lyrics, often blending elements of indie rock, alternative, and pop.
The band's presence in the music industry was solidified with their debut album "When I Was Younger" released in 2014, which produced the hit single "Silhouettes," gaining them notable recognition and a growing fan base. Since then, Colony House has continued to gather momentum with subsequent albums and energetic live performances. They are known for their thought-provoking lyrics and dynamic sound, which can be heard in their more recent releases such as "Automatic (feat. Fleurie)" with its anthemic qualities, the buoyant "Would Ya Could Ya," and the introspective "One of Those Days." Their passion for storytelling and ability to forge emotional connections through music are evident in these tracks, securing their place in the landscape of contemporary indie rock.
