Ian James Bain

Ian James Bain is a Canadian country and Americana singer-songwriter known for his gritty voice and storytelling ability. The son of an air force man, he spent much of his youth moving around Canada before settling in a small rural Ontario town, where he connected with music through DIY shows and like-minded friends. Inspired by classic country legends like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard, Bain developed a sound that blends traditional country with a modern edge. After working as a sideman in various genres, he found his true musical home in country and honed his songwriting skills while working on a ranch in British Columbia, recording demos on cassette tapes in a small cabin.

His debut album, *Where I Wanna Be*, was recorded in 2021 and released in 2022, earning widespread play on college and community radio across Canada. Bain also gained experience performing alongside Canadian country legend Paul Weber, which helped him find his voice as a performer. Since then, he has continued to build his discography with releases like *Devil Dance*, *Church on a Hill*, and the 2025 EP *At Your Service*. Known for his heartfelt lyrics and authentic country sound, Bain is recognized as a rising artist who bridges traditional influences with contemporary songwriting.
