Ernest Ranglin

Ernest Ranglin is a Jamaican guitarist and composer known for his pioneering work in ska, rocksteady, and reggae music. Born in 1932, Ranglin began playing guitar at a young age and quickly established himself as a sought-after session musician. He played on countless recordings by Jamaican artists, including Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, and Desmond Dekker. Ranglin's unique guitar style, which blends elements of jazz, blues, and Caribbean music, has earned him international acclaim. He has released numerous solo albums and collaborated with a wide range of musicians, including Toots and the Maytals, Nina Simone, and Herbie Hancock.
