Cem Duruoz

Cem Duruöz is a Turkish-born classical guitarist renowned for his exceptional technique and elegant artistry. He began his training with Safa Gürbüz and continued with Ahmet Kanneci, later winning the first prize in the Turkish National Guitar Competition at age 17. Duruöz pursued further studies at the San Francisco Conservatory and The Juilliard School with the esteemed guitarist Sharon Isbin. His performances have spanned four continents, including appearances at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Istanbul Festival, and numerous guitar festivals worldwide. Notably, he premiered the Concerto Anatolia by David Hahn in the U.S. and has collaborated with diverse artists like bandoneón/tango master Raul Jaurena.

Cem Duruöz has released several critically acclaimed albums, including **Pièces de Viole**, featuring arrangements of French baroque gamba music, **Contemporary Music for Guitar**, and **Desde el Alma - Tango Classics**, which showcases his mastery of tango styles. His recent releases highlight his versatility, encompassing a range of musical styles from classical to tango and traditional Turkish music. As an educator, he frequently gives masterclasses and teaches guitar performance at Wesleyan University in the USA.
