Switchfoot

Switchfoot is an American alternative rock band from San Diego, California, formed in 1996. The band's members include Jon Foreman on lead vocals and guitar, Tim Foreman on bass guitar and backing vocals, Chad Butler on drums, Jerome Fontamillas on guitar and keyboard, and Drew Shirley on guitar. Known for their energetic live shows and thought-provoking lyrics, Switchfoot first gained mainstream recognition with their 2003 breakthrough album, "The Beautiful Letdown," which produced hits such as "Meant to Live" and "Dare You to Move," propelling them to critical and commercial success.

Over the years, Switchfoot has maintained a loyal fan base while continually evolving their sound. The band's music often grapples with issues of faith, love, and the human condition, offering a message of hope and resilience. Their commitment to social and humanitarian causes is also evident through their charitable work and the establishment of the annual Bro-Am surf competition and concert, which supports various children's charities. As evidenced by their extensive discography, including the introspective "interrobang" and their festive "this is our Christmas album", along with creative collaborations like "Meant To Live (Jon Bellion Version)," Switchfoot remains a dynamic force in rock music, never shying away from reinvention while staying true to their core messages.
