Cólera

Cólera is a seminal punk rock band hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, known for their raw energy and politically charged lyrics. The group was formed in 1979 by brothers Redson Pozzi (on guitar and vocals) and Pierre Pozzi (on drums), alongside bassist Val. Cólera swiftly became a staple of the Brazilian punk scene with their fast-paced sound and their advocacy for social and environmental issues, which was a distinct characteristic among their contemporaries. The band's commitment to DIY ethics and straight-edge philosophy has garnered a dedicated fanbase that transcends national borders.

Over the decades, Cólera has released numerous records that have cemented their place in punk rock history. Albums like "Tente Mudar o Amanhã" (Try to Change Tomorrow) and "Pela Paz em Todo Mundo" (For Peace in the Whole World) are testaments to their enduring message of change and empowerment. Tragically, in 2011, the band suffered the loss of their iconic leader, Redson Pozzi. Despite this, Cólera has continued to forge ahead, driven by the spirit of their late frontman. With a discography spanning over forty years, including their most recent releases such as "Está na Hora de Mudar!" and "Acorde! Acorde! Acorde!", Cólera remains a venerated and influential force in the punk community, continuing to inspire new generations with their impassioned call to action and desire for a better world.
