Jotapê is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Osasco. He burst onto the music scene with his debut album "Crônicas de um Sonhador" in 2015, followed by the EP "Garoa" in 2021. Jotapê's sound is a vibrant blend of Brazilian musical traditions, drawing influences from icons like Jorge Ben, Caetano Veloso, and the innovative manguebeat style of Chico Science. His music career has seen him perform at notable events like TEDx and Sofar Sounds, as well as major festivals such as Primavera Sound.
In addition to his solo work, Jotapê is part of the duo ÀVUÀ with Bruna Black. Their collaborative efforts earned them a Latin Grammy nomination in 2021 for the album "ONZE," which featured collaborations with renowned artists like Elza Soares and Zeca Baleiro. Jotapê has been making waves internationally, touring Europe in 2022 and 2023, and releasing his latest album "Se O Meu Peito Fosse o Mundo" in 2024.
