SUGIURUMN, whose real name is Eiji Sugiura, is a Japanese DJ and music producer. Born on November 1, 1970, in Tokyo, Japan, he began his music career in 1992 as the singer for the indie band Electric Glass Balloon. After the band's activity, he transitioned into electronic music, eventually becoming a solo artist known as SUGIURUMN. His music career as SUGIURUMN marked a significant shift towards dance music, with his first album titled "Life is serious but art is fun." Notably, he released the album "MUSIC IS THE KEY OF LIFE" in 2000, which was a re-release of two EPs with artwork by Hirohiko Araki. SUGIURUMN has released seven albums and numerous singles, collaborating with well-known artists and having his tracks remixed by top DJs. He founded his own label, BASS WORKS RECORDINGS, in 2013, focusing on underground dance music.
SUGIURUMN has gained recognition globally, particularly in Europe, where his tracks have been remixed by prominent international artists. He has performed at major venues worldwide, including Pacha in Ibiza and Sankeys in Manchester, showcasing his ability to blend different styles of electronic music.
