Klezmer Conservatory Band

The Klezmer Conservatory Band is a Boston-based ensemble founded in 1980 by clarinetist and bandleader Hankus Netsky. Known for their vibrant performances and authentic sound, the group has been a key force in the revival of klezmer music—a lively, soulful style rooted in Eastern European Jewish traditions. Drawing from Yiddish folk tunes, jazz, and swing, the band brings both tradition and fresh energy to their recordings and live shows.

Over the years, the Klezmer Conservatory Band has become one of the most respected klezmer groups in the world, performing internationally and collaborating on projects like Itzhak Perlman’s Jewish music programs. Their albums, including A Jumpin’ Night in the Garden of Eden and A Taste of Paradise, are beloved by fans for their spirited arrangements and deep connection to Jewish musical heritage.
