Dioganhdih is a queer Indigenous hip-hop artist and producer from the Akwesasne-Mohawk community, born on the Onondaga Nation territory in what is commonly referred to as upstate New York. Their music is deeply rooted in their Haudenosaunee heritage and reflects a commitment to honoring the Earth and fostering intertribal relations. Dioganhdih's artistry challenges cis-heteronormative culture, using rap and lyricism to explore themes of sexuality, gender identity, and urban Native life while preserving traditional Indigenous culture. They have performed at numerous prestigious venues and events, including Stanford, Duke, Yale, and Oceti Sakowin Standing Rock, and have been featured in publications like The Fader and CBC Music.
Dioganhdih holds a BA in Communication Studies from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cortland and has worked in tech, launching diversity initiatives at companies like SoundCloud. Their recent focus has been on supporting frontline work in Indigenous communities and advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights within the Haudenosaunee community. In 2021, Dioganhdih self-released their LP, *Rezbien*, and continues to engage in various projects, including farming and developing educational programs for Indigenous communities.
