Shaylee

Shaylee is a Portland-based power-pop and indie-rock project led by singer-guitarist Elle Archer, a queer trans woman. The band's sound is influenced by early Green Day and Big Star, with a blend of melodic and punk elements. Shaylee gained momentum with the release of *Short-Sighted Security* in 2022, an album that marked a significant artistic milestone for Elle Archer. Recorded mostly alone during the COVID lockdown, the album explores themes of identity, love, and acceptance. Following this, Shaylee expanded to include bassist Robin Cook and drummer Nate Anderson, showcasing a more dynamic sound in releases like the single "Snow Day," which combines catchy power pop with vulnerable songwriting.
