Born on April 3, 1960, in Switzerland, Truffaz grew up in a musical environment, which cultivated his passion for jazz. His father was an accomplished saxophonist, and young Erik naturally embraced music by learning the trumpet. As an artist, Truffaz is renowned for his ethereal trumpet playing and his willingness to continually experiment with his music, as reflected in the diversity of his discography. His works often transcend boundaries and exhibit a restless exploration of soundscapes, incorporating elements from various cultures and inspirations. Over the years, his projects have included collaborations with other artists, adding a rich layer of vocal and instrumental dialogue to his compositions. Notable among his recent releases are "Reflections," which features the suave vocals of José James, and "Lune rouge," a track bathed in nocturnal ambiance. With more than twenty albums under his belt, Erik Truffaz continues to be a compelling force in the evolution of jazz, widening the genre's horizons and captivating audiences worldwide with his innovative spirit.
