Krematorij

Krematorij (Russian: Крематорий), formed in 1983, is a notable Russian rock band key to the post-punk and new wave movements that swept the Soviet underground music scene during the late 20th century. The band, founded and led by frontman Armen Grigoryan, gained recognition for combining philosophical and often absurdist lyrics with a unique mixture of rock, blues, and punk influences that reflected the complexity and contradictions of the Russian experience.

Over the years, the band has maintained a loyal fanbase and continued to evolve its sound, as evidenced by their recent string of releases that showcase their ability to stay relevant in the constantly shifting music landscape. With albums and singles like "Зомби" (Zombie), and "Клубника со льдом или любовь до гроба" (Strawberry with Ice or Love Until Death), they've intertwined sardonic wit with melodic introspection. Their live symphonic performance "Симфоконцерт" (Sympho Concert) is a testament to their musical versatility. Krematorij's commitment to their artistry and willingness to experiment musically, even after decades on stage, demonstrate why they remain a significant and enduring icon in Russian rock music.
