Sinoath is an Italian black/death/doom metal band formed in 1990 in Catania, Sicily. The band's early lineup included Salvatore Fichera on drums, Rob Messina on guitars, Fabio Lipera on bass, and Nicola De Carne on guitar. Over the years, Sinoath has experienced several lineup changes, with Salvatore Fichera being a consistent member and driving force behind the band. In their early days, they released notable demos like "Forged in Blood" (1991) and "Still in the Grey Dying" (1993), which gained them recognition. After a hiatus, the band reformed in 2003 and has since released several albums, including "Under the Ashes" (2007), "Anamnesis" (2018), and "Portraits of Personal Darkness" (2020).
Sinoath's music has evolved from raw, horror- and occult-themed metal to incorporate more existential and esoteric themes, often blending elements of doom and progressive styles. The band's history reflects a dedication to exploring darker musical landscapes while maintaining a strong connection to their roots in extreme metal. Despite lineup changes and hiatuses, Sinoath continues to contribute to the Italian metal scene with their unique blend of genres.
