Nithyasree Mahadevan

Nithyasree Mahadevan is a celebrated Carnatic vocalist and playback singer from India, known for her powerful voice and deep-rooted connection to classical South Indian music. Coming from a legendary musical lineage—she is the granddaughter of Carnatic greats D.K. Pattammal and Palghat Mani Iyer—Nithyasree has carved out her own distinctive place in the world of Indian classical music. She began performing at a young age and has since become one of the most respected names in Carnatic music, with an extensive discography and numerous concerts around the globe.

In addition to her classical roots, Nithyasree has also made a mark in the world of film music, particularly in Tamil cinema. Her playback career took off with the chart-topping hit "Kannodu Kanbathellam" from the movie Jeans, composed by A.R. Rahman. Her career bridges the traditional and contemporary, as she continues to release devotional albums and perform both classical concerts and light music shows. With a strong stage presence and emotive delivery, Nithyasree remains a beloved figure among music lovers in India and beyond.
