Sieve is a darkwave band hailing from Bandung, Indonesia, originally formed in the late 1990s during the country’s post-vandalism era. The group’s core line-up includes Richard Riza (also known for his work with SEL), Alexandra J. Wuisan (also a former vocalist for Cherry Bombshell), and Regina Rina, Riza’s sister, who contributed piano and guitar. Sieve became known for their fierce and melodic sound, with songs often emerging from collaborative jams and a decentralized creative process. The band went on a lengthy hiatus in the early 2000s as members pursued other creative directions and family life, but returned to the studio in the 2020s with support from Anoa Records, leading to remastered tracks and new material. Despite initial doubts about returning to music after such a long break, Sieve has continued to write and release music, reconnecting with fans old and new while exploring fresh sounds that honor their early legacy.
