Detsl aka Le Truk was a pioneering Russian rapper who gained prominence in the early 2000s. Born Kirill Tolmatsky, he burst onto the scene with his debut album "Кто? ты" in 2000, which helped bring hip-hop into the mainstream in Russia. Detsl was known for his charismatic style, socially conscious lyrics, and for being one of the first Russian artists to adapt global hip-hop culture to a local context. His youthful energy and catchy tracks made him a cultural icon for a generation of young fans discovering rap music.
Over the years, Detsl evolved artistically, later performing under the name Le Truk and experimenting with different sounds and lyrical themes. He continued to release music that pushed boundaries, often addressing political and philosophical issues. Tragically, Detsl passed away in 2019 at the age of 35 after performing at a private event. Despite his untimely death, his influence on Russian hip-hop remains significant, and he is remembered as a trailblazer who helped shape the genre in his country.
