Pardinho e Pardal were a Brazilian sertanejo duo active from 1978 to 1982. The duo consisted of Pardinho, whose real name is Antônio Henrique de Lima, and Pardal, also known as Gonçalo. They achieved significant success with their "Menino de Tábua" trilogy, which not only broke sales records but also helped popularize the legend of Antonio Marcelino, known as the "Menino da Tábua," both within and outside Brazil. Their music played a role in transforming the small town of Maracaí into a pilgrimage site due to the popularity of songs like "O Menino de Tábua," "Os Milagres do Menino de Tábua," and "Capela do Menino de Tábua."
Pardinho, born in São Carlos, São Paulo, had a rich musical background before forming the duo with Pardal. He was part of another influential duo, Tião Carreiro e Pardinho, known for their contributions to the sertanejo genre. Pardal, born in Porto Feliz, São Paulo, had also collaborated with other artists before joining forces with Pardinho. Despite their success, Pardinho eventually reunited with his former partner Tião Carreiro. The duo's legacy remains significant in Brazilian music history, especially in the context of their impact on the "Menino da Tábua" legend.
