Mazarine Street was a Swedish rock band formed in 1993 in Stockholm. The band's original lineup included Malte Holmberg on vocals and guitar, Luciano Leiva on keyboards, Jakob Krajcik on bass, Peo Bengtsson on guitar, Vejde Gustafsson on drums, and Henry Moore Selder contributing with saxophone, turntables, and more. Their music career began with the release of their debut single "Get It On" in 1995, followed by their debut album *The Beast of Mazarine Street* and the EP *Smokin'* in 1996. Over the years, they released several albums, including *Thirteen Reasons to Believe* in 1997 and *Delirious* in 2001. Mazarine Street's sound evolved from a frenetic garage rock style to incorporate elements of gospel, funk, and electronica.
The band gained a following, particularly among students in cities like Linköping, where they frequently performed. Despite their energetic live performances and unique sound, Mazarine Street disbanded after their final album. However, they briefly reunited in 2013 for a festival appearance, which was later canceled due to personal reasons. Throughout their career, Mazarine Street left a mark on the Swedish music scene with their distinctive blend of rock and other genres.
