Miniatures

Miniatures is an atmospheric dream pop band formed by ex-pat New Zealanders Ché Walden, Annemarie Duff, and Chris Maclean, who have been creating music together since 2012. Based in Melbourne, their sound is a lush blend of dream pop and shoegaze, featuring swirling layers of synths and guitars that create a rich, immersive listening experience. Their debut full-length album, *Jessamines* (2017), showcases their ability to weave reverb-heavy vocals and guitars into a hazy, beautiful soundscape with subtle moments of urgency, drawing inspiration from iconic '80s and '90s indie pop bands like Cocteau Twins, The Smiths, and My Bloody Valentine, while maintaining a unique identity.

Prior to *Jessamines*, Miniatures released EPs such as *Miniatures* and *Dis* (2012 and 2013 respectively), which helped establish their dreamy, layered aesthetic. Their music often treads the delicate line between being submerged in sound and overwhelmed by it, inviting listeners to get lost in their textured, echo-laden compositions. This blend of dreamy shoegaze and synth-driven indie pop makes Miniatures a compelling act in the contemporary atmospheric music scene.
