The Fall are an English post-punk band formed in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, in 1976. The group has undergone numerous lineup changes throughout its history, with Mark E. Smith being the only constant member. The Fall's music is characterized by its angular guitar riffs, repetitive rhythms, and Smith's distinctive vocals and lyrics, which often explore themes of alienation, social commentary, and the banality of everyday life.
