XATAR, born Giwar Hajabi on December 24, 1981, in Sanandaj, Iran, is a German rapper of Kurdish descent who has made significant inroads in the hip-hop scene with his distinct sound and gritty narrations of street life. He came to Germany as a refugee during his childhood and grew up in Bonn.
