Creation Rebel

Creation Rebel is a pioneering British dub reggae group that emerged in the late 1970s. Originally formed as a studio band under the guidance of producer Adrian Sherwood, the collective became integral to the early sound of Sherwood’s On-U Sound label. Known for their experimental and atmospheric approach to dub, Creation Rebel blended heavy basslines, echo-drenched effects, and a cosmic sensibility that pushed the boundaries of traditional reggae. Albums like "Dub From Creation" (1978) and "Starship Africa" (1980) are considered groundbreaking works in the genre, influencing a generation of dub and electronic music artists.

The band featured an evolving lineup over the years, often including members from other Sherwood-affiliated acts such as African Head Charge and New Age Steppers.
