Ajoy Chakrabarty

Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty is one of the most eminent Indian classical vocalists of his generation, renowned for his dexterity in both the Hindustani classical genre as well as in Bengali devotional music. Born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, his musical journey began under the guidance of his father, shri Ajit Chakrabarty, and continued to flourish as he became a disciple of the revered guru, Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh. Later, he also received training from luminaries such as Ustad Munawar Ali Khan and Padma Bhushan Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh.

Over his illustrious career, Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty has carved out a distinct niche for himself, becoming an ambassador for Indian classical music around the world. His deep understanding of raga music, coupled with his emotive expression and technical mastery, has won him numerous accolades and a loyal fanbase across continents. His discography, rich with releases such as "Ragamala," reflects his versatility and ability to touch the soulful depths of various ragas and compositions. An educator as well as a performer, Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty has dedicated himself to nurturing the next generation of musicians through his Shrutinandan music school in Kolkata.
