Ivan Anguélov

Ivan Anguélov is a renowned Bulgarian conductor, born on July 17, 1942, in Kavala, Greece. He studied conducting at the Music Academy in Sofia and later attended masterclasses with notable conductors like Igor Markevitch and Kiril Kondrashin. Anguélov has had a distinguished international career, serving as principal conductor at various institutions, including the National Opera in Plovdiv, Opera Biel/Bienne, Opéra de Lausanne, and the Bratislava National Opera. He is celebrated for his expertise in the Italian repertoire and has worked with numerous prominent opera houses and orchestras worldwide, such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper München, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo. Anguélov has also collaborated with famous soloists like Edita Gruberová and Neil Shicoff.

Throughout his career, Ivan Anguélov has recorded extensively with various orchestras, including the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo and the Berliner Sinfonie Orchester.
